No.1 on this week’s power rankings for the DP World Tour Championship is a two-time champion on the Earth Course at Jumeirah Golf Estates, Northern Ireland’s Rory McIlroy.

McIlroy won the DP World Tour in both 2012 and 2015, as he also went on to claim the season-long Race to Dubai crown on both occasions as well.

The four-time major winner was also the season’s leader in 2014, and he is the only man to have been crowned Race to Dubai or Order Merit leader three times since the turn of the century.

This season, the Northern Irishman has been back to his best, winning four times, with three of those coming on the PGA TOUR. He also lifted the WGC-HSBC Champions crown in Shanghai at the end of October.

On the European Tour, McIlroy has finished in a tie for 2nd at the Omega European Masters, and also had top-ten finishes at the BMW PGA Championship, U.S. Open and the PGA Championship.

He also finished inside the top ten at all four of the World Golf Championships events. Along with the HSBC win, he had a 2nd place at the Mexico Championship, T4 at the FedEx St. Jude and a T9 result at the Dell Technologies Match Play.

Although he will not be able to challenge for the overall prize, McIlroy will be looking to become the first man to win the DP World Tour Championship three times. He is our favourite for this week, is he yours?
