Fantasy Golf: Henrik Stenson
PORTRUSH, NORTHERN IRELAND – JULY 18: Henrik Stenson of Sweden tees off the 4th during the first round of the 148th Open Championship held on the Dunluce Links at Royal Portrush Golf Club on July 18, 2019 in Portrush, United Kingdom. (Photo by Kevin C. Cox/Getty Images) /

Arguably the coolest man in golf, Henrik Stenson comes to the desert this week in search of a third DP World Tour Championship title, having won this event in both 2013 and 2014, the former by a massive six shots.

Those victories were the eighth and ninth of his European Tour career, and he went on to lift the Claret Jug in 2016, as he defeated Phil Mickelson in the duel at Carnoustie in the 2016 British Open Championship.

Stenson has also won the BMW International Open twice, the Benson & Hedges International Open, The Heritage, Commercialbank Qatar Masters, Dubai Desert Classic, South African Open Championship, and the WGC-Accenture Match Play Championship.

The Swede, who is also an Olympic Silver Medallist and three-time Ryder Cup winner, lifted the Race to Dubai crown in both 2013 and 2016. He also won the FedEx Cup in 2013, as he was dominant across the world of golf.

This season, Stenson has not quite hit the highs of previous years, but he knows the Earth Course at Jumeirah well, and although he sits down in 34th on the Race to Dubai rankings, he still mathematically has the chance to finish the year inside the top five, and claim a split of the bonus prize pool.

He has had top-five finishes at the Scandinavian Invitation and the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open, while also making the top ten at the U.S. Open and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. Could this be Stenson’s year to become the first-ever three-time winner of the European Tour’s season finale?
