European Tour: DP World Tour Championship Power Rankings
By Matt Coles
After moving into the top ten on the final day of the Nedbank Golf Challenge in South Africa last week, Matthew Fitzpatrick has just about kept himself in the hunt for the Race to Dubai crown in 2019.
Despite not having lifted a trophy this season, the Englishman is still inside the top five on the Race to Dubai list, and he continues to maintain a place inside the top 25 of the Official World Golf Rankings.
‘Fitz’ does have five European Tour victories to his name, with the most recent coming at the Omega European Masters in September 2018, as he defended his title.
He has four runner-up finishes to his name this season, starting with a 2nd place finish in the season opener, the Honma Hong Kong Open presented by Amundi.
The Englishman has also registered runner-up results at the BMW International Open, Scandinavia Invitation, and the Italian Open. He also has finished inside the top ten at the WGC-HSBC Champions and the WGC-FedEx St. Jude Invitational.
The man from Sheffield has featured at the DP World Tour Championship in the last four years, and he took home the title from Dubai in 20176. Fitzpatrick also finished in the top five a year previous, but he will need to take home the title if he is to have any chance of also being crowned the Race to Dubai champion for this year.
