RSM Classic: Sleeper Picks Who could make a run
Robert Streb (2014) +10000
As mentioned earlier, Streb is the one that held off Chris Kirk in 2014, earning his lone career win. Bit of a theme here, as Kirk is the only one so far with multiple wins in his PGA Tour career. Streb was able to defeat Will MacKenzie and Brendon de Jonge in a playoff, shooting -14. This is tied for the lowest winning score in the tournament’s short history.
Streb has been busy as well so far in the young season, as this will be his 7th event. He has been turning it on since a bad round three at the Greenbrier where he shot 77. He has gone T-23rd, MC, T-28th, T-35th, and T-14th last week at the Mayakoba.
The 2015 season was easily the best of Streb’s career, where he made nearly $4 million, in large part to a win here, a T-2nd finish at the Greenbrier, and a total of nine top-ten finishes.
A large part of Streb’s success back then was his overall success across all aspects of SG. He finished 48th, 76th, 32nd, and 23rd in the four major categories. The main one to watch will be off the tee, as he has not been better than 137th in the last three seasons.
