Zander Lombard leads DraftKings final round fantasy golf showdown picks at the Nedbank Golf Challenge
SUN CITY, SOUTH AFRICA – NOVEMBER 15: Zander Lombard of South Africa plays his second shot on the 15th hole during the second round of the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player at the Gary Players CC on November 15, 2019 in Sun City, South Africa. (Photo by Warren Little/Getty Images) /

The first member of the top five ahead of the AFRASIA BANK Mauritius Open is Zander Lombard, who over the last couple of years, has moved from outside the top 550 in the Official World Golf Rankings into the top 200.

This comes thanks to several top 20 finishes over the second half of the 2019 season, including two top tens at Rolex Series events.

Lombard finished in a tie for 9th at the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open in the summer, before then finishing in a tie for 8th at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, another event on home soil.

The South African also finished in T17 at the Turkish Airlines Open, the first of the finishing three Rolex Series events of the 2019 campaign. Top 20 results also came at the D+D Real Czech Masters, Scandinavian Invitation and the Mutuactivos Open de Espana.

However, Lombard does not seem to be a fan of this event, having missed the cut in both 2017 and 2018, the only two times the South African has entered the tournament.

He is coming into this week’s event off the back of a T7 finish on home soil at the Alfred Dunhill Championship, so he is one of the men in form ahead of the second tournament of the new season.
