At the conclusion of Day One in the 2019 Presidents Cup, plenty can be observed from what went down on Thursday at Royal Melbourne.
With the International Team off to a hot start at the Presidents Cup, Team USA is on the back-foot early and will be playing catch-up headed into Friday’s Foursomes Session.
Plenty can be said about what was thought about each team heading into the event. Team USA were heavy favorites before the start of the Presidents Cup. Only one of the groups played like they were the favorite though. The rest of them… not so much.
There was concern about the course and the speed of the greens, especially after a video surfaced showing the potential for a misplaced shot onto a green that could run backward for what seemed like 40 yards.
