The 2020 part of the 2020 PGA Tour season is underway, and it picks back up with the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

As the events go by during the season, we are going to continue to provide you with a weekly article containing the staff picks. We did so throughout the majority of the Fall Swing and will continue to do so as the PGA Tour season chugs along, and we start this week with a stable full of winners at the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

For those who are new to it, or want a little refresher, it’s pretty simple. All the group here at Pro Golf Now does is to pick who they think is going to win each week. They could pick the same person every single week if they wanted to.

A quarter of the way through and Richie Randolph is currently leading the way. We allocate whatever FedEx points each pick earns, and add them up as we go. He has a nice 300 point lead right now, but that can be overcome as easy as picking second place.

Can anyone catch him, or will he extend his lead? Let’s see who everyone has taken, as we kick-off 2020 with some staff picks for the Sentry Tournament of Champions.

Jon Rahm

Matt Coles

Kathy Bissell

Michael Randleman – weekly power rankingsHere is a blurb from the from Mike.

"Jon Rahm might be the hottest player in the world. He won the Open de Espana in October. The Spaniard took six weeks off before picking up where he left off at the DP World Tour Championship again on the European Tour."

Xander Schauffele

Kasey Kuhrts – Lots of big names playing this week, but I will go with Xander Schauffele to become a back to back Tournament of Champions, champion

Richie Randolph

West Valentine – I think this is a big year for Xander and he’s going to tame the course at Kapalua to earn an invite back to next year’s event.

Justin Thomas

Hans Geevers – I am going with Justin Thomas to win this event. He arrives in Hawaii playing some outstanding golf.

Gary Woodland

Bill Felber – I like Gary Woodland to redeem his near miss from last season.

Dustin Johnson

Connor Schmidtke – For me, it is hard to look past DJ and his history at Kapalua. I know he might still be shaking off some rust post-surgery, but the course suits him and demands the ability to post low numbers and rack up birdies.

Check these stats:

-54 across the last 3 Champions Tournaments
4 Eagles + 62 Birdies against 12 Bogies and 2 Doubles in that span
10 Rounds in the 60’s out of his past 12 at Kapalua
Thumping 8-Shot victory in 2018 in this tournament

Patrick Cantlay

Eric Sedransk

Chris O’Day – I’ll finish it out by agreeing with Eric here. I like Cantlay to win the Sentry Tournament of Champions. He has played some incredible golf over the last year or so, and has made himself known as one of the top players in the game of golf.

Tiger Woods at Pebble Beach: The most dominant performance ever. dark. Next

That’s going to do it for this week’s picks. Make sure to stay tuned throughout the week for updates about the Tournament of Champions as it goes along.
