Kevin Na is already a winner in the 2019-2020 season thanks to his triumph at the Shriners Hospitals Children Open at home in Las Vegas. It was one of three top-20s on the campaign.

More of that could be on the way this week at the Sony Open. Few in the field have the type of experience the 36-year-old Na does around Waialae.

He’s played this event 13 times with nine made cuts. He has three top-10s including a T-4 in 2008. It’s a place where a shorter hitter like Na can perform well.

Na ranked 139th on Tour last season in driving distance (293.4) but was 74th in accuracy (60.71%). He has a knack of taking advantage of the opportunities he gets, as evidenced by finishing 36th with four birdies per round. He was also 16th in strokes gained around the green (.7), which helped him finish 15th in scoring average (68.356).

He’s an excellent mid-iron player who was 19th in proximity from 150-175 yards (18’7″).

Kevin Na struggled last week at Kapalua to finish T-32, but clearly Waialae is more of his cup of tea. I like him to add to his string of top-10s at this event.
