Another member that is returning to the European Tour fold this term is Sweden’s Joel Sjöholm, who came out firing at the season-opener.

The Swede finished the Alfred Dunhill Championship in 2nd place, narrowly missing out on a first European Tour crown, as Pablo Larrazabal held on after a rocky start to his final round to take the win in South Africa.

Sjöholm was a member of the European Tour from 2011 to 2013, but failed to keep his card six years ago, and has since battled his way through the Challenge Tour ranks before qualifying for a European Tour card for the 2020 season.

The Swede’s only taste of victory so far in his career came at the Italian Challenge Open by Lyoness in 2017, but his European Tour exploits have included a 4th place finish at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship and a runners-up result at the Sicilian Open.

The World No.261 will be looking for another solid performance on the African continent, having finished as runner-up at the season-opening Alfred Dunhill Championship, before then finishing just outside the top 25 at the AFRASIA BANK Mauritius Open a week later.

He has had a four-week break since his last professional event, and Sjöholm will be looking to maintain his 3rd spot on the Race to Dubai leaderboard.
