After suffering a huge drop off in form following his Masters’ victory, Danny Willett has fought his way back inside the top 30 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

The Englishman won the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai in 2018, before then finishing 5th at the same event just a few weeks ago at the end of last season.

The 2019 campaign also saw Willett win the European Tour’s flagship event, the BMW PGA Championship at Wentworth, his second Rolex Series victory in ten months.

Along with his two victories over the last twelve months or so, the former Masters champion has also finished inside the top ten at two other tournaments around the world.

Willett came home in a tie for 6th place at the 148th British Open at Royal Portrush, just six weeks after achieving a T8 result at the RBC Canadian Open on the PGA TOUR.

Like Fitzpatrick, the man from Sheffield has had a long break after the DP World Tour Championship and has not played competitively since that week in November.

However, with the break, he will have hoped to come back refreshed and ready for another lengthy season on both sides of the Atlantic. Could the Englishman get his season off to the perfect start with a big win at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship this week and claim his third Rolex Series win?
