What a run Louis Oosthuizen is having! The former British Open champion has only finished outside the top 20 once in his last 11 starts, with three top-three finishes in that period.

The South African, who now sits at World No.18, has finished inside the top six in four of his last five outings, including runners-up finishes at his two most recent events.

He came home in 2nd place at the Emirates Australian Open, the season-ending event on the ANZ Tour, before then finishing runner-up to compatriot Branden Grace at the South African Open hosted by the City of Johannesburg, the country’s national championship, on Sunday.

He also came home in 3rd spot at the WGC-HSBC Champions in China, along with T6 finishes at both the Northern Trust on the PGA TOUR and the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player, the second of the Rolex Series trio to finish the 2019 season.

Oosthuizen is back inside the top 20 in the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time since the summer of 2017, and he only narrowly missed out on retaining the South African Open title he won in December 2018 on Sunday afternoon at Randpark GC.

The former World No.4 finished the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship in 4th place last year, so he has an affinity with the venue, and he would love to go even better this week, especially after being so close in several recent events. Could ‘Oosty’ fly to the top of the Race to Dubai list come Sunday afternoon?
