Bet the house on Gary Woodland playing the weekend.

He’s an impressive 9-for-9 in cuts made at the Farmers Insurance Open. The 35-year-old has yet to win at Torrey Pines, but two top-10s and four straight top-20s make him an attractive candidate.

Woodland finished T-9 in 2019 (71-70-69-66) thanks to a solid all-around performance. The Kansan hit 75% of his greens, over 60% of his fairways and was just slightly above average on the greens (.247 strokes gained). If you offered him the chance to shoot 12-under again, he might take it.

He was also the 54-hole leader in 2014 before a Sunday 74 dropped him to a tie for 10th.

The 2019 U.S. Open champion is seeking his fifth top-10 in his last six starts and sixth straight top 20.

Woodland recorded a T-7 in his last appearance at the beginning of the month at the Tournament of Champions.

His length is a tremendous asset this week. He was 19th last season in strokes gained off the tee (.472) and 13th in distance (308.2).

Woodland’s one of the better athletes on Tour and can handle the grind that this tough track presents. He might be a bit more eager to return to Pebble Beach in a couple of weeks, but he could win sooner than that in the Sunshine State.
