Webb Simpson is the king of just going about his business and cashing checks. I continue to say that it’s very surprising he hasn’t won since the 2018 Players Championship. That said, only two missed cuts since February 2018 is phenomenal. So are four runner-up finishes, the last of which came this season at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

Simpson hasn’t won at the Waste Management Phoenix Open, either. In Webb Simpson fashion, he’s made seven of nine cuts at TPC Scottsdale. Four of those were top-10s, including a solo second in 2017 (67-71-65-64). He lost to Hideki Matsuyama on the fourth hole of a playoff.

Simpson also had a good showing last year with a T-20 (67-69-70-70).

He comes into this event off of two weeks of rest. His last showing netted solo third at the Sony Open. It was his fourth straight top-10.

The Wake Forest product ranked in the top 20 on Tour last season in all strokes gained stats except for off the tee. While not a long hitter, his precision with his irons makes up for it. Simpson was 14th in SG approach (.613).

He was also 20th around the green (.294) and 11th putting (.608). The combination allowed him to finish third in scoring average (69.377).

There are a few stronger candidates to win this week, but I wouldn’t leave Webb off your DFS lineup.
