Major champion, defending champion, World No.5. Dustin Johnson is the man that tops our Power Rankings for the upcoming Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers.

His victory in Saudi Arabia twelve months ago was his first in a solely-sanctioned European Tour event, but the former U.S. Open champion was not happy with just a solitary win in 2019.

Johnson went on to take the victory at the WGC-Mexico Championship just three weeks later, as he made his way up to World No.1 for a two-month period.

DJ’s form throughout 2019 was impeccable, with just a single missed cut coming at the Rocket Mortgage Classic. He came home inside the top ten at six other events, including runner-up finishes at both the Masters and the PGA Championship, as he went in search of a second major title.

He also had a T5 result at the PLAYERS Championship, T9 at the Genesis Open, T6 at the Valspar Championship and a T4 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, in January 2019.

That same event saw him finish inside the top ten this year, as well, in what is his only appearance at a professional tournament since the PGA TOUR’s season-ending TOUR Championship in September.

He came home in a tie for 7th at the Sentry in the opening week of the year, but can he rekindle the form that took him to the title in Saudi Arabia twelve months ago? It will be the story for the #1 golfer on this week’s power rankings at the Saudi International.
