The only Spaniard on our Power Rankings this week is the man with the most points in the history of the Ryder Cup, Sergio Garcia.

The 40-year-old is in decent form, having finished inside the top 25 in both of the last two events, including a T8 finish at the first Rolex Series tournament of the season, the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA.

He followed that up with a T23 at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on Sunday, having ended the 2019 season with a T6 result at the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Garcia picked up a victory on the European Tour last year, winning at the KLM Open in the Netherlands in September, along with seven other top-ten finishes, starting with the WGC-Mexico Championship and the Honda Classic in the early part of the season.

He then had a T5 result at the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play and a T4 at the Wells Fargo Championship before finishing in solo 7th at the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters on home soil.

The Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers is not an event that Garcia has fond memories of though, having been disqualified in last year’s event for his conduct on the course. Can the Spaniard put that to the back of his mind and perform this week?
