Unsurprisingly, the 46-year-old Lee Westwood, who sits at the top of the Race to Dubai leaderboard after his victory at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA two weeks ago, makes it into our Power Rankings in Saudi Arabia this week.

The Englishman, a veteran of ten Ryder Cups, admitted that he did not practice much going into the first Rolex Series event of the season, but it did not seem to make much of a difference, as he won the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA two shots to become the first man in the history of the Tour to win in four different decades.

With the win, he made his move back inside the top 50 in the Official World Golf Rankings, and he also now flies high at the top of the Race to Dubai standings, holding more than double the number of points of his nearest competitors.

It capped off a good run of form that included a T4 finish at the British Open Championship at Royal Portrush in July, along with top-ten finishes at both the Turkish Airlines Open and the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player at the end of last season.

Westwood featured in last year’s Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers, but he was unable to make the cut. The Englishman will be hoping for better this week, and to increase his lead at the top of the Race to Dubai standings.
