After winning the Omega Dubai Desert Classic recently, Lucas Herbert made his way up a number of different leaderboards, including our Power Rankings, with the Australian now sitting in 1st spot for the ISPS Handa Vic Open on home soil.

His victory, which came on Australia Day, was his maiden win on the European Tour, as he got the better of Christiaan Bezuidenhout on the second extra hole of a playoff at Emirates GC.

The Australian now sits in 2nd on the Race to Dubai leaderboard, behind only Lee Westwood, and he has moved back into the top 100 on the Official World Golf Rankings, sitting just shy of his career-best ranking at World No.79, having moved up 144 places following the victory.

Herbert had not been in the best form coming into the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, with just two top-ten finishes across the entirety of 2019, including one at the very same event.

He came home in T7 at the 2019 Omega Dubai Desert Classic, before finishing in a tie for 8th at the Omega European Masters in September.

Herbert missed the cut at the Handa Vic last season, but could this be another glorious week for the Australian, as he aims for a second European Tour title in three weeks?
