Six-time European Tour winner Joost Luiten comes in at No.9 on ProGolfNow’s Power Rankings ahead of the Oman Open this week.

The Dutchman is a former champion of the Oman Open, having won the inaugural event in 2018, finishing at -16, two shots clear of the rest of the field.

Luiten has also secured victories on home soil twice, winning the KLM Open in 2013 and 2016, along with wins at the ISPS Handa Wales Open, Iskandar Johor Open and the Lyoness Open powered by Greenfinity.

However, he has been slightly out of form over the last twelve months, dropping out of the top 100 on the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time since the start of 2019.

The Dutchman, who has been inside the top 30 on the OWGR in the past, has made 15 consecutive cuts on the European Tour, but he has only finished inside the top ten on two occasions, with T10 results at both the KLM Open and the Nedbank Golf Challenger hosted by Gary Player.

He is yet to finish inside the top 40 on the European Tour this season, but he will be coming into the Oman Open with good memories. Could this be the week that Luiten makes a move back up the OWGR, becoming the first multi-time winner of the event?
