One of China’s most promising golfers ever, Haotong Li, takes his place inside the top ten on the Power Rankings ahead of the third-ever Oman Open.

The Chinese star has one victory on the European Tour to his name, having secured the Omega Dubai Desert Classic title in 2018 when he made his move to World No.32, his best position so far on the Official World Golf Rankings.

Li now sits outside the top 80 on the Official World Golf Rankings, and this season’s Race to Dubai leaderboard on the European Tour, following a T21 result at the Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisors, his best result on the Tour in the 2020 campaign.

He also finished inside the top 50 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA, the first Rolex Series tournament of the new campaign. That result came a few weeks after he came home as the runner-up at the CHINA TOUR Championship in December.

Over the last couple of years, Li has also finished in 2nd in Saudi Arabia and at the Turkish Airlines Open, T5 at the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, T9 at the Sky Sports British Masters and the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play, along with a top 20 result at the U.S. Open in the summer of 2018.

Two years is long enough for a golfer of Li’s quality to wait for another European Tour title. Could his first visit to Oman be the spark he needs to claim victory once more?
