Malaysia’s Gavin Green comes into the top ten on our Power Rankings for the first time in the 2020 season, sitting at No.4 ahead of the third-ever Oman Open.

Green is still awaiting his first win on the European Tour, with his only professional victory coming at the Mercuries Taiwan Masters on the Asian Tour, back in 2017.

However, thanks to a run of nine consecutive cuts made, seven of those on the European Tour, the Malaysian has moved inside the top 150 on the Official World Golf Rankings for the first time in his career, and he now sits at World No.150 ahead of the Oman Open.

That nine-tournament run saw him finish runner-up at the PGM Maybank ADT Championship on the Asian Tour in December, and he has finished inside the top 50 at every event in that period.

It culminated in a T3 finish at the Saudi International powered by SoftBank Investment Advisers on the first weekend of February, as he came home three shots behind the winner, Graeme McDowell.

He also has top 30 finishes at the South African Open hosted by the City of Johannesburg, Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA and Omega Dubai Desert Classic in the early part of the season, and he sits in 19th on the Race to Dubai leaderboard.

The Malaysian has featured in both Oman Open’s but has failed to finish inside the top 60 to date. He will be aiming to improve that this week, but could he take a first European Tour victory?
