Germany’s Martin Kaymer comes in at 2nd on ProGolfNow’s Power Rankings for the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at Education City.

Having suffered a dip in form, which saw him drop down to 191st in the Official World Golf Rankings in May, he then finished inside the top 20 in four out of five events over the summer months, including a 3rd place finish at the Memorial Tournament presented by Nationwide, held on the PGA TOUR.

He then came home in T16 at the BMW International Open, before resulting in the top 20 at two straight Rolex Series events, the Dubai Duty Free Irish Open and the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open.

The German has also finished inside the top 25 in six of his last seven events, including the last two weeks of the European Tour’s ‘desert swing’.

Since the Amundi Open de France, where he finished in a tie for 5th place, Kaymer has finished in T21 at both the Portugal Masters and the Nedbank Golf Challenge hosted by Gary Player.

He has then started the 2020 season well, after a seven-week break over Christmas and New Year, as he came home inside the top ten at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA, before a T16 result at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Could the former Ryder Cup star come home with the spoils in Qatar and make his move back inside the top 100 in the Official World Golf Rankings?
