One of two Belgians on the Power Rankings ahead of the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, Nicolas Colsaerts comes in at No.9.

The World No.196 is arguably lucky to be even featuring on the European Tour this season, as he came ever so close to losing his Tour card at the end of the 2019 campaign.

However, a victory at the Amundi Open de France, his first professional win in over seven years, saw him move back inside the top 200 in the Official World Golf Rankings, and more importantly, he is now exempt on the Tour through to the end of the 2021 season.

Up to that point, the Belgian had been going through a tough time, highlighted by a five-month period where he only managed to finish inside the top 50 once, with that run also including eight missed cuts.

Colsaerts is now back up near his best golf, the form which saw him play for Europe in the 2012 Ryder Cup at Medinah, and after a few weeks off, he will be ready to do battle once more in Oman following four top 50 finishes in his last four events.

The World No.200 came home in a tie for 7th at the Thailand Masters, an Asian Tour-sanctioned event, in December, before finishing in T42 at the Abu Dhabi HSBC Championship presented by EGA, and T50 at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic.

Colsaerts has finished inside the top 35 in the last five Qatar Masters events, including a best of T13 in 2015. Will he continue that good form at this event this year?
