The second South African on the list for this week’s event is Brandon Stone, who came home as runner-up at the Oman Open on Sunday afternoon

Stone is a three-time European Tour victor, having won the BMW SA Open and Alfred Dunhill Championship in 2016 before going on to lift the Aberdeen Standard Investments Scottish Open trophy in July 2018 as well, his first Rolex Series victory.

Stone is also coming into this year’s event having finished the 2019 European Tour’s ‘regular season’ on a high. He finished in a tie for 21st at the KLM Open, before then finishing in a tie for 26th at the Amundi Open de France.

Better yet, the South African ended the Portugal Masters in a tie for 2nd, with that result helping push him back inside the top 200 golfers in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Thanks to his runner-up finish at Al Mouj Golf last week, Stone is inside the top 20 on the Race to Dubai leaderboard, currently sitting 18th. He has also made the move inside the top 160 in the Official World Golf Rankings.

Stone made the cut at the Commercial Bank Qatar Masters at Doha Golf Club last year, and he will be expecting more this time around at Education City.
