It’s time to take a look at the FedEx Cup Standings, as there have been some big changes over the last few weeks.

The FedEx Cup Standings have a new leader for the first time all year, which is understandable when you look at how the new leader has been playing recently.

Sungjae Im took over the top spot from Justin Thomas, who had held a sizeable lead for the better part of the 2019-20 PGA Tour season. The last two weeks changed that for Thomas, as Im would win the Honda Classic, and follow that up with a solo third-place finish at the Arnold Palmer Invitational.

He now has a slim 55 point lead over Thomas, which is about the number of points one could earn for finishing in 15th place in a tournament. Part of the reason Im has been able to make the jump in the standings comes from how often he plays. He has been in 14 tournaments this year, compared to just eight from Justin Thomas.

There is only one player who jumped into the top ten, and he wasn’t out of it for long. Marc Leishman pulled together second-place finish at the Arnold Palmer, and the 300 points it earned him, moved him up to 7th place.

The winner of the event, Tyrrell Hatton, saw his ranking in the FedEx Cup Standings take quite the leap. Heading into the Arnold Palmer, he was in 81st place. He is now in 14th, showing that a win can do wonders for your season. Especially when you spend as much time on the European Tour as Hatton does.

DeChambeau is the next notable who saw a nice jump in his FedEx Cup ranking. Bryson jumped from 25th to 16th, as his hot play continued. He has earned a total of 450 points over his last two events, giving him a nice surge as we get into some upcoming talent-laden tournaments.

Joel Dahmen continued his quietly successful season. You may not know it, but the Washington State product has four top-ten finishes, including back-to-back tournaments where he has finished in a T-5th place. He has yet to win on the PGA Tour, but things are looking bright for Dahmen as he sits in 37th place in the FedEx Cup Standings, moving up from 44th place.

Collin Morikawa now holds the longest active cuts made streak, and his slow and steady climb up the standings is proof of it. He is up to 41st place and has yet to finish outside the top 42, in any event, this season. A lone T-7th place finish is his highest earnings of the season, explaining why he isn’t as high as you may think he should be.

Last up on this week’s check-in is Keith Mitchell. He finished alongside Joel Dahmen, Danny Lee, and Rory McIlroy in a T-5th place. That bumped him from 111th all the way up to 75th place. Remember, the top 70 get into the second round of the FedEx Cup playoffs, so watching the race for 70 is worth keeping an eye on all season.
