The PGA Tour has announced a new nine-year deal with network television, streaming services and with what are called emerging technologies. The time period of the agreement is from 2022-2030. Television networks include Viacom/CBS, NBC, and Golf Channel.

In addition, the PGA Tour will offer streaming services of PGA Tour Live through EPSN+.

"“These new deals will be a major win for our fans, bringing an elevated commitment from all three partners to help us expand and innovate our content and its delivery,” PGA Tour Commissioner Jay Monahan said in a prepared statement."

Monahan noted that the contracts will also allow the PGA Tour to increase compensation to the players and allow the organization to continue its large charitable footprint which is in excess of $3 billion to date.

According to Variety, the value of the deal is reportedly $680 million.

Viacom/CBS emerges as the leader in weekend tournament coverage with an average of 19 tournaments each year through the life of the deal. NBC Sports will, on average, cover nine tournaments each year. Golf Channel, owned by NBC, will continue early-round coverage of tournaments, and it will have full tournament coverage of some events, like the events in Hawaii and the Fall Series both of which they currently air.

In a new development, the PGA Tour will handle on-site production areas and technical infrastructure for all tournaments while the various television networks will use their own technical and production staff, including producers, directors, and talent.

"“We’re excited to extend NBC Sports’ historic partnership with the PGA TOUR as its foundational media partner. We will continue to utilize our extensive platforms to showcase golf with unparalleled live tournament coverage, comprehensive news and high-quality content,” said Pete Bevacqua, presidents NBC Sports in a statement.“Extending our successful, long-standing relationship with the PGA TOUR was a top priority, and we are thrilled to add nine more years to this terrific partnership,” said Sean McManus, Chairman, CBS Sports. He noted that CBS will carry more than two-thirds of the golf coverage."

In a new wrinkle for the FedExCup coverage, the two of the major networks, Viacom/CBS and NBC Sports, will alternate full coverage of the FexExCup Playoffs and Tour Championship.

PGA Tour Live, which has been broadcast by the PGA Tour since 2015, will find a new home on ESPN+, the streaming service owned by The Walt Disney Company. That platform will get underway starting in 2022. Additional streaming content channels are being explored.

ESPN+ will include streaming coverage of 36 tournaments in 2022, starting in Hawaii. Four days of coverage will be featured for 28 events. There will also be four simultaneous live feeds every day that golf is streamed. On-demand content will also be available.
