Jack Nicklaus, 1975, 16th Hole
In a final-round shootout with Johnny Miller and Tom Weiskopf, Jack Nicklaus needed something special to happen. He hit his tee shot on the par-3 16th hole about 40 feet below the hole. On the green, but not in an ideal location in which to make birdie.
But, as he proved over the years, Nicklaus is not most players. He lined up the putt, gave it a solid stroke, then watched it go into the hole. This set off a rare emotional celebration from the Golden Bear, who would go on to win the event for the fifth time.
