Golf News: Openings of golf courses are Slowly Increasing

As we come to the middle of April, more golf courses have been opening. The number is about 50% and continues to rise.

As more and more people are at home, there is one thing that golfers around the United States can take solace in. Golf courses are starting to open, and around 50% of them across the country are open for play.

Part of this is because the weather is getting nicer. Even in cold weather/rainy weather places like Washington, Oregon, and Minnesota, courses are starting to open.

If you’re in the Southeast, chances are you are able to find courses that are open. Around 70-75% of the courses are open. It’s a nice chance for those who are stuck at home to still get out and be around other people, all the while adhering to the social distancing six-foot rule.

As anyone who has played golf knows, it’s incredibly easy to go out and enjoy a round with your friends, all the while keeping your distance.

The place in the United States that it’s easiest to get out and play might actually surprise you. Without looking at the list, I thought that it would be Arizona. Lot’s of people who have nothing else to do besides golf, the weather is nice, and it’s a place known for its plethora of golf courses.

It’s actually second on the list. The state with the most open golf courses is actually North Carolina.

Even some of the places that are closed, whether due to the weather or to ordinances from the state, are still seeing golfers. In Washington State, most golf courses are closed do to said ordinance. I do know that some of them are still seeing an immense amount of golfers. I’ve heard from people who live on golf courses that they are seeing just as many people go by as normal, if not more.

It’s tough right now for golfers, as the weather is warming up and many of us want to get out there. With all of the courses in the nation open, if you are trying to find a place to play, you should be able to do so.
