11. 2007 PGA Championship

The 2007 PGA Championship was played at Southern Hills Country Club with defending champion Tiger Woods serving as a heavy favorite. Woods would go on to win his second consecutive PGA and his fourth overall.

It didn’t start well for Woods, who shot a 1-over par 71 in the first round. He would trail leader Graeme Storm by six shots and John Daly by four.

But, as has been his pattern, Woods would put himself into contention in the second round of the event. He shot a sizzling 7-under par 63 on Friday to grab a two-shot lead over Scott Verplank heading to the weekend.

Woods had a steady round on Saturday, shooting a 1-under par 69 to extend his lead to three shots over Stephen Ames with 18 holes to play.

In Sunday’s final round, Woods would get an unexpected challenge from Woody Austin, who shot a 3-under par 67 on the day. However, Woods would shoot a 1-under par 69 to claim his fourth PGA Championship and his 13th major title overall.

With his fourth title in the event, Woods has won more PGA Championships than anyone other than Jack Nicklaus and Walter Hagen, each of whom won five times in the tournament.
