Fantasy Golf FanDuel Single Round Picks: Southern Dunes Classic

This week, fantasy golf fans will be presented with the Southern Dunes Classic! Let’s take a look at Tuesday’s first round from a FanDuel/DFS perspective!

Before I discuss my FanDuel/fantasy golf selections I wanted to clearly indicate that I am not providing a specific lineup in this article. However, I am providing multiple golfer options in an effort to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the ability to win a FanDuel single round contest!

Here are my fantasy golf selections for the first round of the Southern Dunes Classic.

Colton Yates $11,600

Yates has played three events on the Outlaw Tour since the start of April. In those three tournaments played, Yates has three top nine finishes, including a fifth place result at last week’s TPC Champions Classic. Additionally, his average first round score in his last three tournaments played is 67.66.

Andre Metzger $11,200

The 38 year old American finished 19th at the Louisiana Open on the Korn Ferry Tour in March of 2019. More recently, Metzger finished 13th at the GCU Championship (Golden State Tour) with a three round cumulative score of 13 under par.

Norman Xiong $10,300

Xiong has two career top 36 finishes on the Korn Ferry Tour, including an 18th place result at the Robert Trent Jones Trail Championship in April of 2019. He also has made the cut in two PGA Tour events, including a 26th place finish at the Sanderson Farms Championship in 2018. The overall talent level of the Outlaw Tour should be a clear step down for Xiong which should provide him an opportunity to perform well on Tuesday.

Neil Johnson $10,000

Johnson finished 16th at the Moon Valley Championship in March. Last week, he fired a final round 68 on his way to a tenth place finish.

Thomas Lehman $8,500

He shot a first round 66 at the Legacy Classic earlier this month en route to a seventh place finish.

Zachary Gaugert $7,200

Gaugert has played five events on the Oulaw Tour this year. In those five events played, he has four top 27 finishes, including an 11th place result at the Legacy Classic in April. I think Gaugert is an outstanding value at a FanDuel price of only $7,200.
