Fantasy Golf: Travelers Championship FanDuel Player Picks
By Hans Geevers
This week, the PGA Tour presents the fantasy golf community with the Travelers Championship. Let’s take a look at this event from a DFS perspective!
Before I dive into my fantasy golf/FanDuel player selections I wanted to clearly emphasize that I am not providing a specific lineup. The intent of this article is to provide multiple player options to assist the reader in generating a unique lineup that will hopefully have the potential to win a FanDuel GPP (guaranteed prize pool) contest.
Here are my FanDuel/fantasy golf player selections for the Travelers Championship.
Bryson DeChambeau $11,700
The 26 year old American arrives at this week’s event in outstanding form. Bryson has an impressive six top eight finishes in his last seven tournaments on the PGA Tour. He also has two consecutive top nine finishes at the Travelers Championship.
DeChambeau also checks the box for me when it comes to statistics. He currently ranks first in strokes gained off the tee (1.098), seventh in strokes gained tee to green (1.629), and fourth in par four scoring average (3.92) on the PGA Tour.
Brooks Koepka $11,400
Brooks played very well in last week’s RBC Heritage. To be more specific, Koepka fired a final round 65 en route to a seventh place result. Additionally, Koepka has two previous top 19 finishes at the Travelers Championship, including a ninth place result in 2016.
Bubba Watson $10,800
The two time Masters champion has won the Travelers Championship three times (2010, 2015, 2018). Watson also enters this week’s event in good form. His seventh place finish at the Charles Schwab Challenge earlier this month tells me that Watson is primed for another win at the Travelers Championship.
Victor Hovland $9,700
Hovland is currently ranked ninth in strokes gained off the tee (.649) and 24th in strokes gained approach (.561). He also has three top 23 finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including a win at the Puerto Rico Open in February.
Doc Redman $8,100
The 29 year old American has five top 29 finishes on the PGA Tour this season, including a 21st place result at last week’s RBC Heritage. Redman is currently ranked 17th on the PGA Tour in strokes gained approach (.642).
Mark Hubbard $7,800
Hubbard is currently ranked 26th on the PGA Tour in putting average (1.725). He has three top 11 finishes this season, including a ninth place result at the Waste Management Phoenix Open in January.
