Bernd Wiesberger isn’t a commonly thought of name in the States, but he’s earned his stripes in Europe.

The Austrian nearly won the 2019 Race to Dubai on the European Tour, and remains in the top 30 in the world despite just one Official World Golf Rankings start since February.

That one start was a missed cut last week at the Memorial Tournament where he was a few shots shy of making the weekend.

I’ll cut him some slack as he shook off the rust from quarantine. Now, I like him to come back to the form he showed late in 2019.

He won a pair of Rolex Series events and was T-3rd at the Nedbank Golf Challenge, a part of the Race to Dubai’s Final Series.

In 2020, he also posted a T-8th in Abu Dhabi, which featured some big names in the field.

Based on his statistics, Wiesberger is a very well rounded player. He’s 27th on the European Tour in greens in regulation (71.81%).

Length isn’t a big asset, but he should be long enough to get around TPC Twin Cities if the rest of his game is intact.

Wiesberger doesn’t have a lot of success in the U.S. I predict that’ll change after this week.
