The best player without a win in the last seven weeks might be Justin Thomas. He’s already won twice in 2019-2020 and has three top-eights in his last five outings.

Thomas finished T-10th at Colonial, T-8th at Harbour Town and was solo second at the Workday Charity Open. It appeared to be Thomas’ tournament to win up three with three holes to go, but a resilient Collin Morikawa got the win on a third playoff hole.

Despite the disappointing finish, Thomas still owns 11 career PGA Tour wins and is surely on his way to more.

He didn’t have his best stuff a week after the playoff loss at Muirfield Village, but still grinded out a T-16th finish at the Memorial.

The former Alabama Crimson Tide now comes to the WGC-FedEx St. Jude and TPC Southwind for the second time. Thomas fired 68-69-66-71 to finish T-12th in 2019.

“The course is so good, it’s all in front of you, nothing’s hidden, nothing’s tricky,” Thomas was quoted by TeeScripts in 2019. “You just have to go out and play good golf.”

The current top-ranked American is also the FedEx Cup leader thanks to wins this season at the CJ Cup and Tournament of Champions, as well as a T-3rd in Phoenix.

Thomas ranks first on Tour in strokes gained tee to green (1.786) and is third in total SG.  (2.009). This is a guy who just needs to see some more putts fall (74th SG, .223).
