If you gave up on Justin Suh in 2020 I think you jumped the gun.

He was among the crop of collegiate players that included Collin Morikawa, Matthew Wolff and Viktor Hovland. Those three have all either won or had plenty of success through about two seasons on the PGA Tour.

Suh, a highly touted player out of USC, wasn’t able to get off to the same hot start. I’ll remind you he’s still just 23 and appears to be getting the hang of things.

His last two starts came on the PGA Tour where he finished T-14th at the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship and T-8th against a strong field at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open.

“I put in a lot of work, especially working with coach (Chris) Zambri and the stuff that we do in college, just kind of got back to my roots,” Suh was quoted at Puntacana by Tee Scripts. “It means a lot just because it’s showing. It’s very satisfying when hard work shows on the golf course.”

This comes on the heels of four good weeks playing on the PGA Tour’s Local iQ series established just for this year to give playing opportunities to PGA Tour Latinoamerica, Mackenzie Tour and PGA Tour China members.

Suh went T-7th, T-9th, T-9th and T-33rd.

Suh also had a T-21st this summer at the Barracuda Championship.

In limited stats kept by PGA Tour LA, Suh was second in 2019 in scoring average (69.05) and fourth in birdie average (4.6).

The Californian has been seeing courses mostly for the first time in competition. That will be the case again here at Port Royal.
