This week, the PGA Tour presents fantasy golf fans with the Bermuda Championship! Let’s take a look at this event from a Draftkings perspective.

Before I dive into my fantasy golf player selections let’s take a quick look at the golf course the field will play this week.

The Bermuda Championship will be played at the Port Royal Golf Course. The golf course is a par 71 that measures 6,828 yards. The Port Royal track is set on the beautiful coastline of the Atlantic Ocean in Bermuda. This will be the second time that this golf tournament has been played on the PGA Tour. Port Royal also hosted the event in 2019. It should also be noted that this course was designed by Trent Jones.

For fantasy golf research purposes, other Trent Jones designs include:

  • Bellerive – 2018 PGA Championship
  • Hazeltine – 2009 PGA Championship
  • Highlands Course, Atlanta Athletic Club – 2011 PGA Championship

Now let’s turn our attention to what I love doing the most! Here are my Draftkings/fantasy golf player selections for the Bermuda Championship!

Will Zalatoris $10,900

When I am compiling my fantasy golf player pools for Draftkings contests, I like to look for enhanced motivation in a golfer. Yes, I am sure every player that tees it up this week is motivated. However, certain golfers are sometimes in specific career situations that “enhance” a player’s motivation to succeed.

Let me explain why I think Will Zalatoris fits the description I just outlined perfectly. Zalatoris has dominated the Korn Ferry Tour this season. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, he will be unable to graduate from the KFT and obtain a PGA Tour card. Due to that fact, Zalatoris has to perform at a high level when given the opportunity (via sponsor exemptions, etc.) to play in PGA Tour events.

Now let’s take a look at Will’s recent form. Zalatoris has played 15 events since June (PGA and Korn Ferry Tours combined). In those 15 events played, Will has an impressive 11 top six finishes, including a sixth place result at the U.S. Open.

Henrik Norlander $8,900

The 33 year old shot a final round 65 at the Sanderson Farms Championship en route to a fourth place result three weeks ago. It should also be noted that Norlander loves to putt on bermudagrass greens. Guess what? Norlander gets the bermudagrass greens he loves this week.

Justin Suh $8,700

The young American arrives at this week’s event on the heels of two consecutive top 14 finishes on the PGA Tour, including an eighth place result at the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open.

In relation to this week’s current listed Bermuda Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Suh ranks 17th in strokes gained putting and 16th in birdie or better percentage.

Wesley Bryan $7,800

Bryan has three top 24 finishes in his last six events played on the PGA Tour, including a 12th place finish at the Sanderson Farms Championship.

David Hearn $6,700

The 41 year old has two top 33 finishes in his last three events on the PGA Tour, including a 14th place result at the Safeway Open a month ago.

In relation to this week’s current listed Bermuda Championship field, in the last 12 rounds played on the PGA Tour, Hearn ranks tenth in scrambling, 11th in driving accuracy, and 13th in bogey avoidance.

Michael Gligic $6,500

The Canadian fired a final round 68 at the Safeway Open on his way to an eventual 14th place finish last month. Additionally, Gligic finished 27th at the Shriners Hospitals For Children Open two weeks ago.

As always, good luck!
