Doc Redman is still looking for his first PGA Tour win. He could earn that initial victory on Sunday at the Bermuda Championship.

Doc Redman finds himself in the lead at the Bermuda Championship with 18 holes to play. He will have a chance on Sunday to win on the PGA Tour for the first time.

This is not the first time that Redman has had a realistic chance to win on tour. In 2019 the Rocket Mortgage Classic, Redman was a Monday qualifier and ultimately finished second, earning his way to the tour with a Special Temporary Membership.

During the 2020 season, Redman finished in a tie for third at the Wyndham Championship and earlier this season, the Clemson grad also finished in a tie for third, this time at the Safeway Open.

Last year, Redman made the FedEx Cup playoffs for the first time. He would finish 71st overall, a solid showing for his first postseason appearance.

Redman took the lead at the Bermuda Championship on Saturday with a very solid round of golf. He started the third round in fourth place but was able to work his way into the lead late in the round.

His round started in solid fashion with a birdie on the par-4 first hole. He would then make four straight pars to stay at the 1-under par mark.

Redman made a move on the sixth hole with another birdie. He followed that with a birdie on the par-5 seventh hole to move to 3-under on his round.

After a par on eight, Redman would bogey the ninth. Still, it was a 2-under par 34 on his front nine.

Redman started the back nine with a par on 10. He then birdied the par-4 11th hole to get back to 3-under on his round.

After four more pars in a row, Redman birdied the par-3 16th hole to move to 4-under and into the lead. He closed his round with pars on 17 and 18.

It was a round of 67, which moved him to 10-under for the tournament. He’s one shot ahead of Ryan Armour, Wyndham Clark and Kramer Hickok with 18 holes to play.

Still just 22 years old, Redman has a lot of promise and plenty of good golf ahead of him. It would advance his career if he could go ahead and get that first win out of the way.
