No. 3 Bubba Watson (winner in 2012, 2014)

Bubba Watson has a few courses that he really, really likes. Just how much does he like them? Consider this: Watson has 12 career wins on the PGA Tour. Those 12 wins have come on a total of seven courses.

Watson likes Riviera Country Club (three wins), TPC River Highlands (three wins) and Augusta National, where he has won twice.

Watson’s first Masters title came in 2012, when he hit one of the most memorable shots at Augusta in recent years on his way to a playoff win over Louis Oosthuizen. Then Watson won a second green jacket two years later when he beat Jonas Blixt and Jordan Spieth by three shots.

Watson’s affinity for the course is a big advantage for him, but so is the fact that he has played some really solid golf over the last few months. Watson has found himself contending at courses where he has never contended before. That has to give him a positive feeling heading into this week.

The last two years at the Masters, Watson has tied for fifth (2018) and tied for 12th (2019). He’s right on the cusp of winning there again.

Watson will also be motivated by those talking about Bryson DeChambeau and Brooks Koepka and their length off the tee. Remember, Bubba can still hit it a long way himself.

Look for Watson to be among the contenders as the back nine unfolds on Sunday.
