No. 2 Tiger Woods (winner in 1997, 2001, 2002, 2005, 2019)

Tiger Woods’ history at the Masters is well-chronicled. He has played the Masters 22 times with a sparkling record. Woods has won at Augusta National five times, more than anyone except Jack Nicklaus, who won the event on six occasions.

Woods has finished in the top 10 at the Masters 14 times and has missed the cut only once, which came in 1996. Woods was also the low amateur at the Masters in 1995.

Woods holds a number of Masters records. He was the youngest winner of the event, at 21 years of age, in 1997. When he won last year, he set the record of most time between Masters wins, 14 years.

Not only that, but Woods is arguably the greatest golfer of all-time. He’s tied with Sam Snead for the most wins in PGA Tour history, has won 15 majors and changed the game like perhaps no player ever has. There was a time 15-20 years ago when Tiger was virtually untouchable.

He has not had a great 18 months since winning at Augusta last year but a couple of facts remain. One, he is the defending champion. And two, Woods has had overwhelming success in the Masters. Look for him to be in contention again this year.
