Christiaan Bezuidenhout is bezuiden-hot right now. The rising South African just won his second event in a row in his home country, going back to back at the Alfred Dunhill Championship and South African Open. Bezuidenhout won by four and five shots, respectively.

He’s up to three worldwide wins in 2020 as he also won early in the year at the Challenge Tour/Sunshine Tour co-sanctioned Dimension Data Pro-Am. Impressive stuff for someone who hadn’t won anywhere since the Sunshine Tour’s 2016 Sun Fish River Challenge.

The 26 year old is on cloud nine, saying it was a “dream to win his national open” last week.

Most of his success has come in fairly low stakes events. I like him to parlay his sensational form into a high finish next to some big names here at the DP World Tour Championship.

Bezuidenhout acquitted himself well at his debut at the Earth Course in 2019. He carded 71-67-70-73 to finish T-12th. He was 10th in the field in scrambling (45.1%) and 17th in greens in regulation (76.4%).

Prior to his two wins, he also earned T-15th in November at the Joburg Open.

Bezuidenhout leads the European Tour in putts per round (27.84) and is second in sand saves (70.69). He’s got work to do on his ball striking, but as long as you can avoid some penal native areas there is room to maneuver around the Earth Course.
