FanSided 250: Was Tiger Woods snubbed?
By Tim Letcher
A list that includes the top 250 fandoms in the world came out on Tuesday, and the FanSided 250 does not include Tiger Woods.
The FanSided 250 was released on Tuesday and professional golfers as a whole were snubbed. Not a single professional golfer was listed in the list of the list of the top 250 fandoms in the world. So as a golf fan, my question is simple – how in the world can Tiger Woods not be included in this list?
I mean, seriously. This list includes Tiger King but not Tiger Woods? That’s just crazy. Woods is not only among the most popular golfers in the world, he’s one of the most popular athletes in the world.

As far as golf goes, no player has ever changed the game the way Woods has. He has created exposure across both sports and pop culture unlike anything the golfing world has ever seen.
Woods has won 15 major championships during his career. He has taken the golfing world to a whole new level of exposure. In fact, without Woods, do you really think there would have ever been a Golf Channel?
He has also helped out the PGA Tour by increasing exposure and, in turn, prize money for his fellow players. Anyone who has played on tour for the last 25 years should thank Woods because their earnings increased largely due to the Tiger Woods factor.
The FanSided 250 takes into account social media follows, a world where Woods stands out.
Tiger has 6.5 million followers on Twitter. He has 2.4 followers on Instagram. That’s nearly 9 million accounts following the Big Cat.
And Tiger’s fans are passionate about him as a player. They’ve seen their hero be on top of the world, only to collapse and fall off due to personal shortcomings.
But they’ve also seen Tiger battle back, owning his problems and working to fix them, while becoming an outstanding dad to his kids.
They’ve also seen Woods struggle with injuries only to work extremely hard to get back into shape. And they have seen him triumph at the 2019 Masters when many thought his career was completely over.
There’s absolutely no way that Woods should not be included on this list. From an early glance, his exclusion is by far the biggest snub on this list.
