Best career FedEx Cup finish: Cook made an immediate impact in the FedEx Cup during his rookie season. He finished 38th that season, which is the best of his career. Since then, he has slipped to 130th in 2019 and 155th in 2020.

So far this season: The 2020-21 season has not been great for Cook, with one notable exception. He started his season at the Safeway Open, where he shot an opening-round 68. However, he was unable to follow that up with a similar round and at the end of the week, he finished in a tie for 52nd place.
At the Sanderson Farms Championship, it wasn’t Cook’s week. He shot 71-72 and missed the cut.
But one week later, he had his best result of the season.
Playing at the Shriners Hospitals for Children Open, Cook opened with a 63 and was in the mix all week. He shot 65 on Friday, 67 on Saturday and 66 on Sunday. He would finish in a tie for second place.
After taking a few weeks off, Cook returned at the Houston Open. He shot 71-72 and made the cut. He took advantage of playing the weekend, with a 68 on Saturday and a 66 on Sunday. That allowed him to climb into a tie for 24th place.
Two weeks later, at the RSM Classic, he opened with a 68. However, a 74 on Friday left him home for the weekend with a missed cut.
In his final 2020 start, Cook never really got it going. He shot four rounds in the 70s and finished in a tie for 63rd place.
The verdict: Cook has just one win on the PGA Tour. His standing at 33rd in the current standings is boosted by his runner-up finish at the Shriners. Consider him a pretender for this year’s FedEx Cup.
