Rickie Fowler has yet to win a major. That will change in 2021.

There are plenty of golfers who have yet to win a major. Rickie Fowler is one of the better ones that is currently playing on the PGA Tour to have that distinction. Once the season is over, he will be able to take his name off that list.

Rickie Fowler has been a pretty darn good player throughout his career. It’s tough in his era though, as there are not just a lot of good golfers, but a lot of all-time greats as well.

Due to that, you might be surprised to hear that through a 12 year career on the PGA Tour, Rickie Fowler has only won five events, none of which are majors. It isn’t like he hasn’t been close though.

His worst best finish comes at the PGA Championship, where he finished T-3rd back in 2014.

When you take a look at the other three, he has been runner-up at each of them, most recently in 2018 at the Masters when he finished a single shot behind Patrick Reed, nearly completing a comeback amidst his round of 67.

2014 was the year that he seemed like he was going to get one, and you could argue that he had the best major season of someone to not win a major.

He would start off finishing T-5th at the Masters. Then, he would post back-to-back T-2nds, where he would lose by eight to Martin Kaymer and two to Rory McIlroy. It finished off with the PGA Championship T-3rd, where he was once again two shots behind Rory.

He managed a career-high two wins the following season but just hasn’t been able to translate that success into a major. All that will change in 2021.

Heading into the upcoming second half of the season, Rickie is going to be 32 years old, which likely falls into a golfers prime window. As golf gets back into the swing of things (no pun intended), Rickie should be one of the golfers who can get back into rhythm. After five top tens at majors from 17-19, 2020 was a year without a strong finish.

If you could place a bet on a new major winner, look no further than Rickie Fowler.
