Tiger Week: Tournaments That Tiger Woods Has Dominated

WGC-American Express/CA/Cadillac Championship

The World Golf Championships have been very good to Tiger Woods. The event that has been called the WGC-American Express, the WGC-CA Championship and the WGC-Cadillac Championship has seen Woods win a total of seven times.

In 1999, Woods rallied from a 54-hole deficit to beat Miguel Angel Jimenez in a playoff to claim the win. Three years later, Woods won the title for a second time, shooting an amazing 25-under par to beat Retief Goosen by one shot.

Tiger won the event again in 2003, taking a two-shot lead into the final round. He would win by that same margin, topping Stuart Appleby, Tim Herron and Vijay Singh.

In 2005, Woods won the even for the fourth time, overcoming a two-shot deficit and rallying to beat John Daly in a playoff. The next season, Woods won the event again, this time dominating the field with an eight-shot victory. Ian Poulter and Adam Scott were a distant second.

The event would change names in 2007, to the WGC-CA Championship, in 2006. New name, same champion. Woods won by two shots over Brett Wetterich.

At the WGC-Cadillac Championship in 2013, Tiger won the event for the seventh time. He topped Steve Stricker by two shots to in it yet again.
