For the first time in 2021 my Undervalued and Sleeper DraftKings fantasy golf selections are back, just in time for the Waste Management Phoenix Open!

As always, check out Hans Geevers full-lineup picks that he posts each and every week. Hans’ article is also great for reading about the course, and how he believes it will play.

And of course, as always in my articles, I am only looking at players under the average DraftKings salary of $8,333. Finding value is the most important thing when making your selections, so I hope to bring you some solid options.

The key stats I will be focusing on this week will be greens in regulation, proximity to the hole, strokes gained putting, driving distance, par 4 scoring average, birdie or better percentage, and par 5 birdie or better. Here are my selections:

Russell Henley $8,200

Russell Henley is not only my 8K undervalued selection of the week, but he is also my favorite play in the entire 8K range. I think there are lot of boom-or-bust guys in the range this week, but I think Henley is the only guaranteed success this week.

Henley isn’t going to blast the ball off the tee, but Webb Simpson proved last season you can win this event without playing the par 5’s extremely well. I think Henley can follow Webb’s model from last season, when he played the par 4’s at -14.

Henley is currently first on the PGA Tour in par 4 scoring average. With that, he is also 16th in greens in regulation, tied for 19th in proximity to the hole, tied 64th in birdie or better percentage, and tied 97th in strokes gained putting.

Henley comes in making 6/8 cuts so far this season, including three top-15 finishes, most recently a tied 11th at the Sony Open three weeks ago.

Sam Burns $7,700

My first 7K selection of the week is Sam Burns. Unlike Henley, Burns will not have a problem with distance, as he sits 14th on tour this season in driving distance averaging 311.6 yards off the tee.

To go with that, Burns sits 6th in greens in regulation, tied for 18th in par 4 scoring average, 25th in birdie or better percentage, 26th in par 5 birdie or better percentage, 35th in proximity to the hole, and 91st in strokes gained putting.

Burns has made 5/7 cuts so far this season, highlighted by a seventh-place finish at the Houston Open, and an 18th place finish last week at the Farmers Insurance Open.

Chris Kirk $7,500

Chris Kirk is quietly playing some of the best golf on tour right now. He’s made six straight cuts, dating all the way back to September, highlighted by a second-place finish at the Sony Open, and 16th at The American Express two weeks ago.

Kirk currently sits 12th in par 4 scoring average, 35th in greens in regulation, tied 40th in proximity to the hole, tied 51st in birdie or better percentage, and 90th in strokes gained putting.

In 9 starts at TPC Scottsdale, Kirk has made the cut seven times, including six of his last seven, highlighted by an 11th place finish in 2018.

Patton Kizzire $7,000

I think this is a weak 6K range this week, so I am giving three 7K selections. At $7,000, Patton Kizzire is a steal.

Kizzire has made 8/9 cuts so far this season, and his only missed cut came in the first event of the season at the Safeway Open. Since then, Patton has three top-15 finishes, 11th at the Houston Open, 10th at the RSM Classic, and 7th at the Sony Open.

So far this season, Kizzire sits 22nd in strokes gained putting, tied 24th in par 4 scoring average, tied 26th in birdie or better percentage, tied 29th in driving distance, 43rd in greens in regulation, and 45th in par 5 birdie or better percentage.

In five starts at TPC Scottsdale, Kizzire has made the cut four times, his best finish being 31st in 2018.

Matt Jones $6,900

My only 6K selection this week is Matt Jones. Jones is another guy you might not realize is playing very good golf. He’s made seven straight cuts, highlighted by a 4th place finish at the Bermuda, and 11th at the Sony Open.

So far this season, Jones sits 24th in strokes gained putting, 39th in driving distance, tied 43rd in par 4 scoring average, 50th in par 5 birdie or better, and 98th in birdie or better percentage.

Jones has made four of his last five cuts at TPC Scottsdale, highlighted by a 12th place finish in 2014.

Well there they are, my sleeper and undervalued selections of the week. Hopefully, some of these players will make their way into your lineups, and win you some money!
