Who’s better since the restart than Daniel Berger?

3.       Justin Thomas, -0.69

Thomas has made 17 Tour appearances since the restart, capped by his win at the WGC FedEx St. Jude last summer. But he’s been a consistent presence, with nine top 10s and four other top 20 finishes.

Those include a tie for runner-up behind Dustin Johnson at the Tour Championship, a playoff loss to Collin Morikawa at the Workday and a tie for second with Rahm at the Zozo. He was third at the Tournament of Champions.

His only true blemish was a missed cut at the Travelers when his back-to-back 71s were not good enough to get him to the weekend.

Thomas’s post-restart scoring average is 68.67. His 66 official rounds include 23 of 66 or better, capped by a 62 at the Mayakoba. He’s only had seven rounds higher than 72, and only two higher than 74. One of those was a 76 at the US Open. Again, forgiveness is in order for that.

Statistically, Thomas’ best post-restart showing came in a defeat, that being his playoff loss to Morikawa at the Workday. They tied with scores that were 2.63 standard deviations better than that week’s field average only to have Thomas run afoul of the third playoff hole.
