World number one Dustin Johnson +550 comes in at a similar number to last week before his withdrawal and is the clear favorite at this week’s Genesis Invitational. Not only has DJ been in incredible form of late but he also has a terrific history at the Riv that includes a win in 2017, and six top-ten finishes in his last seven starts here.
Both Jon Rahm +1200 and Rory Mcllroy +1250 follow the Masters champion and a strong case could be laid out for both this week. Rahm has two top-twenty finishes in his only two starts at this event and he has played incredibly well in the state of California throughout his young career so far. Mcllroy meanwhile comes in having exhibited excellent form to begin 2021 with a 3rd and two top-twenty finishes in his three starts to begin the year.
Four more close out the under 20 range this week including Justin Thomas +1400 who came close at this event back in 2019 when he finished runner-up, Xander Schauffele +1600 who will be looking to go one step further this week and win after his last start in Phoenix, Patrick Cantlay +1650 who has been in as good of form as any to start 2021, and Bryson DeChambeau +1700 who will be looking to take apart Riviera this week with his monstrous power off the tee.
With so many big names near the top of the board this week it means that the midtier is full of great players at some big numbers.
