Tiger Woods was involved in a one-car accident at 7:12 this morning as reported by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department. According to sources the “Jaws of Life” were used to extricate him from the car and he was immediately taken to the hospital with yet undisclosed injuries.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Woods was traveling at a high rate of speed and lost control of his vehicle, crossing the center divider. The vehicle also reportedly rolled over as well.

Woods was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, according to the Los Angeles Times, and he was dealing with moderate to critical injuries. The injuries are reportedly not serious and the Times report said that Woods was conscious when he was pulled from the vehicle.

According to Woods’ agent, Mark Steinberg, the legendary golfer sustained multiple leg injuries in the accident.  However, the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

Woods has been rehabbing a chronic back injury in the hope of making a run for his 16th Major win at the Masters in mid-April. He was last seen by the golfing public as he presented Max Homa with the trophy at the Genesis at Riviera this past weekend. Woods has not played competitively since December and it was unclear when he planned to make a return to the PGA Tour.

Woods has won 15 majors and a PGA Tour record-tying 82 tournaments overall in his Hall of Fame career. His last win on tour came at the 2019 Masters, where he returned from multiple surgeries and other injuries to claim his fifth green jacket.
