Viktor Hovland +2250

Hovland continues to impress and after an average performance at the Tournament of Champions in the first event to begin the year has gone on an absolute tear recently with finishes of 2nd,6th, and 5th in his last three starts.

If you go back to the end of 2020 Viktor adds a win and another top 5 to those results as well as he continues to play superb golf and stake his claim for a spot on Europe’s Ryder Cup team later this year.

The 23-year-old was 3rd at the Workday charity open last year held at Muirfield Village so he has also shown some success on Nicklaus designs previously. He will be like many in this field to be playing this course for the first time, but having had success at courses he was seeing for the first time before that shouldn’t be too much of a concern for him this week.

Viktor has gained strokes with his irons in three consecutive events this year and I’ll look to capitalize on that at the WGC Workday Championship as another win appears to be right around the corner for the young Norwegian if he keeps this up.

Sungjae Im +4500

The Korean is coming back from a rare two-week gap in his schedule this week, something that is almost unfathomable for a player that typically plays every week, but Sungjae decided to skip the last two stops in California and head straight to Florida.

Im has had a solid start to 2021 having made five consecutive cuts and recording three top 20 finishes during that span, he has also played very well in Florida throughout the course of his young career.

Sungjae picked up his first PGA win last year at PGA National, another Jack Nicklaus designed course and he also has recorded two top 5 finishes in two starts at Bay Hill Country Club, and another top 5 at the Valspar back in 2019.

The 22-year old putts well on Bermuda greens and when his irons are hot strikes it with the best of them, I’ll take a chance that his magical Florida run continues this week at the WGC Workday Championship.

I’ll finish the card this week by adding one longshot in Thomas Detry+250000 who was 3rd at this course during the 2015 NCAA golf championships. The Belgian has started 2021 with a missed cut and two made cuts including a top ten finish at the Dubai Desert Classic. I’ll be looking to play him in the top 20 market this week as well.
