THE PLAYERS: 2021 Tournament preview and picks
Justin Thomas +1800
It’s been a challenging and difficult couple of months for Thomas, and his game and form have seemingly taken a hit in recent times as a result. There were some positive signs in his last start though and he may be beginning to piece it all together just in time for THE PLAYERS after producing an excellent performance with his approach play at the WGC-Workday where he gained a ridiculous 9 strokes but lost almost half that off the tee.
The hope is that he was able to work on some of the inaccuracies that have plagued him from off the tee during the week off. TPC Sawgrass is very much a second shot course and Thomas is one of if not the best in the World with his Irons and he has shown that he can compete here in recent years with a 3rd in 2016 and an 11th in 2018, he has also made the cut in each start, something that not many can say about this place.
Justin has had success on other Pete Dye designs as well, including an 8th at the RBC Heritage last year during the restart, he has also done well at Muirfield Village at an event that has seen some crossover with THE PLAYERS in the past.
I’ll be going with a Pete Dye specialist who has been in incredible form in 2021 next.
