Jon Rahm is at Quail Hollow for the first time since 2017. He made the cut here at the 2017 PGA Championship finishing T-58th (70-75-71-75).

The 26-year-old Spaniard is making his second Wells Fargo Championship appearance. Rahm earned solo fourth in 2017 at Eagle Point.

Rahmbo enters the week seeking his fourth straight top-10.

It’s five straight if you count his solo seventh finish with Ryan Palmer a couple weeks ago at the Zurich Classic of New Orleans. Rahm was also T-9th at the Players Championship, made the WGC-Match Play quarterfinals and finished T-5th at the Masters.

It’s hard to believe he hasn’t won since The Northern Trust. To be fair, he did switch from Callaway to Taylormade clubs. Maybe now’s the time these high finishes turn into trophies.

The fact that he’s maintained a streak of 13 made cuts dating back to June through this transition is remarkable.

The Arizona State product ranks inside the top 30 on the PGA Tour except for putting, where he’s 121st. It’s not the clubs, but the flat stick getting in the way.

Rahm is second in SG tee to green (1.7) and third off the tee (.841). He’s got the game to bully his way around Quail Hollow and gain strokes with the driver.

If the early week rain that’s forecasted softens the course and we see a birdie fest, that would seemingly benefit Rahm. He’s 21st in birdies per round (4.33) and 19th in birdie or better percentage (25.12%).
