Scottie Scheffler continues to shine at big events. He earned T-8th last week at the PGA Championship with three rounds of par or better at a difficult test in Kiawah Island. He made just one double bogey and none worse. Scheffler was 18th in strokes gained off the tee (2.779 total) and 11th in SG putting (4.623). You donā€™t see this too often, but he was exactly a net neutral of 0.000 SG around the green to sit 55th in the field.

It was almost his best major finish, coming up just shy of T-4th at the 2020 PGA.

Perhaps a more straightforward test like this week will help his short game. Heā€™s 44th on the season in SG around the green (.245). Schefflerā€™s length isnā€™t as big of an asset this week as normal, though itā€™ll still help him capitalize on the two par-5s.

One of golfā€™s rising stars has finished in the top 20 in his last four majors and finished top-five in his last two World Golf Championships.

Picking up his first PGA Tour win is the next order of business. It seems to just be a matter of time.

Doing so at the Charles Schwab Challenge would be a dream for this Dallas native. He should be plenty familiar with Colonial despite last year being his tournament debut. Scheffler finished T-55th with three rounds in the 60s.

Scheffler has made six cuts in a row and eight of his last nine. His solo second at the WGC-Match Play highlights four top-10s in that span.
